Thanks for
listening to The Beach 96.5! it's a lot of hard work to provide a
radio station such as The Beach 96.5 to Corpus Christi, but it's
ton's of fun too!
I'm not originally
from Corpus Christi...no you see life for me started out in the
mid-west city of Cincinnati Ohio,
where
I was born and raised. Home to Cincinnati Reds baseball and Bengals
football. I love the weather in south Texas! In Ohio we have a few
month's of summer and then it's back to a mixture of cold, rain,
sleet (frozen rain), ice, and ahh yes...good old snow! We've even
had snow on Easter. Although this one year as a kid, Cincinnati was
blessed with beautiful sunny skies as you can see in the
picture...that's my Dad.
He's a man who knows how to dress, and looked better than me most
day's...but as you can see by the fancy sport coat I was wearing to
church, he didn't have a chance. Thanks for the nice Easter basket
Mom. Mom's know it's all about accessories.
Growing up, the guy
most responsible for my addiction to fast cars was my brother
pictured here standing next to a 1972 Heavy Chevy Chevelle...knuff
said!
Later I would drive
my parents crazy with my own projects like building this 1978 ford
mustang. Yes, from the ground up! in my parents garage! They must
love me.
During this time I
worked for a local chevy car dealer. a man who had an influence on
my work ethic was "Clyde". Clyde was always looking for "THE RIGHT
CUSTOMER" as you can see here pictured with the baseball bat.
I always wondered what would happen if you were the wrong
customer...? Clyde on this one occasion let be barrow one of the
corvette's on the lot to run and pick up a tux for a prom with my
girlfriend. on the way back from the mall, the corvette ran out of
gas! I found a gas can in some yard and had to hitch hike for gas. I
did manage to return the car back safe and sound...oh and the gas
can too! I found that music was something I was also equally excited
about and set out on a music career. Playing in many bands including
one called "Reckless", pictured here.
We
had some pretty crazy times and I acquired the nick name "Frosty"
that still follows me even today. It was because I always died my
hair Blonde or had highlights. Thanks Sis for the hairstyle advise.
All things must come to an end...I was kicked out of that band for
speaking my mind. I got over it and moved to Hollywood! Fast forward
to when I finally got my start in Radio, it was back in my home
town. WKRQ(Q-102) is a radio station I grew up listening to. It is
one of the most awesome experiences of my life. Thanks Jimmy for
taking a chance! JRod, Race, Brian and Mark...I wouldn't trade those
years for the world. I've always cherished the family vacations to
Florida,
so
when I had the opportunity to work and live by the ocean, I jumped
at the chance! In 1999, I moved to Corpus Christi to continue my
career in broadcasting with the best radio station in town...The
Beach 96.5 baby! Being in Radio, you get to do the craziest
stuff...meeting artist's and celeb's are a couple perks,
but the coolest is realizing the connection a radio personality has
with listeners. I can be the person who gives you a reason to smile
and have a good day, or turn you on to some really great music that
I like. It's a blast working at The Beach 96.5 and living in Corpus
Christi! A city by the bay were you can get a sunburn in December!
Thanks so much for being a part of what makes me happy.
